Birmingham Restaurant Review
Restaurant Barajee - Reviewed on 25/08/06
256 Broad Street, Birmingham, B1 2DS - +44(0)121 633 6700.There is a good chance that you may have walked past Restaurant Barajee and never new it. Restaurant Barajee is located on the first floor and accessed via a small door on Broad Street. Once you've climbed a flight of stairs and entered the restaurant, great views across Gas Street Basin towards the Mailbox present themselves through the windows.
We opted for papadoms and chutney's for starters. Not really a lot you can get wrong with these, and there wasn't. I plumped for Gosth Gata Masala, which is diced, de-boned meat leg of lamb and fried rice. My partner always wants to try an alternative curry dish but just can't help ordering her usual choice of Chicken Tikka Masala with plain rice.
We had to prompt the waiter to bring the Nann Bread which they had forgotten to bring out. This was immediately rectified and we started to eat. My lamb was served in large chunks and was superbly soft and succulent. The source was pleasantly thick and really complemented the lamb. My partner's Tikka Masala was also very well done. Again the meat was cooked to perfection and the plain rice was light and not too sticky.
Overall dinning at the Restaurant Barajee was a pleasant experience. Despite the slip up with the forgotten Nann Bread the service was very attentive and to a good standard.
Our Opinion - 3 out of 5

Whilst this may not be the best curry house in the city, the Barajee, is not bad. Good location on Broad Street should you be along there having a few drinks, you can easily pop in for curry. Service is good and pretty quick too.Script by Dagon Design [ Login ]
